HALIFAX, NS—Jay Wells, one of Canada’s premier stylists, is the subject of an upcoming profile in Preferred Magazine. A photo shoot is scheduled at 2120 Brunswick Street in Halifax for this Thursday May 25th and will run through Friday May 26th .

Wells first gained recognition in national publications like Flare and Canadian Living for his short, textured cuts twenty years ago. He then earned respect winning six Coast “Best of” Hairstylist awards before using his costume degree and make-up artistry skills to forge a career in the film world. While local, Wells has styled celebrities including Paula Abdul, Harrison Ford, The B52s, Ann Heche, and Kathy Bates.

Preferred Magazine is a men’s luxury lifestyle magazine headquartered in Toronto. The advertisers and writers of Preferred Magazine serve a demographic that consists largely of Canada’s top one percent of income earning males. The upcoming issue profiles Canada’s top talent from coast to coast in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary celebration this year. Actor Jason Priestley will appear on the cover of the Summer 2017 issue of Preferred Magazine.

Lindsay Anne Delaney, a 2011 graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in Halifax is Preferred Magazine’s photographer assigned to shoot Wells. This year Delaney shot her first cover for Preferred Magazine, celebrating the 15th anniversary of ETalk, featuring Ben Mulroney and Devon Soltendieck.
